Power outage in northeast Bakersfield after truck collides into pole

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Electricity will be out for about six hours in northeast Bakersfield, according to PG&E officials.
At about 12:30 p.m., officials said a truck collided into an electricity pole near Highway 178 and Kern Canyon Road.
The electric wires came loose and hit the ground after the collision. Officials said one wire snapped causing the power outage.
No injuries were reported. The outage affects less than 500 residents.
