Pregnant woman killed in Dec. fire died of smoke inhalation

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County Coroner confirmed the cause of death of a pregnant woman in December.

Christine Soles was 7 months pregnant when the building she was sleeping in caught fire.

Her accidental death was caused by smoke inhalation and thermal burns.

The Sheriff's office officials said Soles was found dead in a building that was designed as a smokehouse, but was illegally converted into housing.
The building was not up to code, and had previous violations.
