Probation sweep yields drugs, weapons, multiple arrests

Officers from the Kern County Probation Department's Adult, Juvenile, and AB 109 units conducted a probation gang sweep in the metro Bakersfield area.

In total, officers conducted 67 probation home calls, 68 probation searches and completed 46 field identification cards on documented gang members and associates.

Officers said they made 24 felony arrests for violations of felony probation or Post Release Community Supervision and new law violations, apprehended 10 warrant subjects, and made numerous seizures of weapons and illegal drugs. 

The estimated street value of illegal drugs seized during the sweep is $7,480.00.

One of Kern County's Most Wanted, 29-year-old Daniel Valenzuela, was apprehended by officers during the sweep. 

Valenzuela was wanted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as a parolee at large, since October 8, 2013.
