Red Cross reportedly helped three adults from Oildale fire

One toddler was found dead in the burning home

OILDALE, Calif. - The Red Cross- Kern Chapter volunteers reported they helped three adults from an Oildale house fire where one toddler was found dead. (Story Here: http://bit.ly/1bYl8tB)

According to the Red Cross- Kern Chapter, volunteers went to a home on the 300 block of Washington Street in Bakersfield on June 19.

The Red Cross said they provided clothing, food, comfort items and other necessities, as well as much needed resources and referral guidance for three adults.

This call of help marks the 59th response of 2013, serving a total of 192 people. Last year, almost 500 local individuals were served by Kern Chapter Red Cross volunteers due to home fires or other disasters.
