Report: Dylan McNabb used bath salts, shot his grandmother with a hunting rifle in the home

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A report said the Bakersfield teen accused of shooting and killing his grandmother admitted to being under the influence of bath salts during the shooting.
The incident occurred on in a northwest neighborhood at Mohican Drive and Bronco Avenue Oct. 6.
Dylan McNabb, 19, waived his right to an attorney and told police he used a hunting rifle that had been sitting in the room to shoot his 78-year-old grandmother, Imogen McNabb, in the face, according to the report.

Police said the first officer on scene found Dylan McNabb walking away from the home and the woman dead from a gunshot wound.
Neighbors said McNabb lived there with his grandmother, dad and brother.

23ABC interviewed the teen, but will not publish or broadcast comments of a suspect who may be mentally ill.
McNabb is facing a charge of first-degree murder and is being held without bail.
