Reports: Tehachapi area suspect arrested after helicopter, deputies searched downtown

TEHACHPI, Calif. - A possibly armed suspect is in custody after a helicopter and foot patrol last night in Tehachapi.

According to the Tehachapinews.com, on June 12, the Tehachapi Police Dept. along with the Kern County Sheriff's Office were searching for a possibly armed suspect. At about 9 p.m.  it was reported that the KCSO had caught its suspect.

Reports said there was continuous circling of a police helicopter over the area near Tehachapi's Central Park around 7 p.m.

The Tehachapinews.com said the helicopter was providing support for officers assisting the Kern County Sheriff's Office in locating a possibly armed suspect.

According to reports, at about the time of that statement, Tehachapi officers were seen with their guns drawn outside a home on Pepper Street, about a block east of the park.
