Reward for info on murder suspect of Super 8 Motel case

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -  

The Secret Witness Program is offering a reward of up to $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest of Oscar
Medina.
 
On Aug. 14, at about 6 a.m., Bakersfield Police Officers went to the Super 8 Motel, at 3620 Wible Road, about possible shots fired.
 
Upon arrival, officers learned two suspects, later identified as Oscar Medina and Kessler Cannon, entered the motel room of Angel Rios and robbed him at gunpoint.
 
Rios chased after the suspects and Medina shot at Rios. Rios died due to his injuries.
 
Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of an additional suspect, Jose Trejo. Cannon was arrested and charged
with murder.
 
Oscar Medina is wanted for murder, felon in possession of a firearm, active gang participation and robbery in connection with this case.

asked to select a code name and code number when they provide information to Secret Witness. Should additional
contact with the caller be necessary, the code name will be published along with a request for the original caller to
establish contact. Once contact is made, the caller will be asked to provide their original code number for verification
purposes. The same steps will be taken to pay a reward to the caller. Secret Witness is operated under the direction
of an independent, voluntary board of directors representing civic organizations, law enforcement agencies, media
outlets, and corporate sponsors.
