MCFARLAND, Calif. - One person is recovering and roads are re-opening after a chemical spill in McFarland.

Kern County fire says Saturday morning, nitric acid spilled while being transferred near the intersection of Kyte Road and Sherwood Avenue.  One person was injured and taken to the hospital.  A vapor cloud was created because of the spill.

Roads in the areas were closed due to the way the cloud was moving.  Hazmat crews were called out and successfully cleaned everything up.
