BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Immigrants, farm workers and supporters will celebrate the National Day of Dignity and Respect from new heights.
There will be a rooftop concert from the Bank of America parking structure.
The organizers are joining the larger pro-immigrant movement that hopes to lead to citizenship for immigrants in the United States.
There will be over 130 events across the US to celebrate the day, and on Tuesday there will be a concert at the National Mall. Tens of thousands are expected to attend.
The rooftop celebration in Bakersfield will start at 6 p.m. at the parking structure at 17th and K Streets.
The concert is free to anyone who wants to attend.
Several local bands are expected to play, including Valley Roots, Franky Sanchez, and Shane Cuoto.
There will also be a food drive.
