BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - If your children still need their back-to-school immunizations, a local hospital is offering free shots to the families who need it the most.
San Joaquin community hospital was offering free vaccines today at the Park at Riverwalk.
Children are eligible for the shots if they do not have health insurance, qualify for Medi-Cal, or are Native American.
Thanks to a grant from our parent company Scripps Howard foundation--- the first 40 patients over the age of nine were offered a free HPV vaccination.
Another free clinic is scheduled for tomorrow at the Walgreens on Chester Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
No appointment or health insurance is necessary, but immunization cards are required.
