BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Two young women who went missing after going on a hike yesterday have been found.

The sheriff's office said the women who are 16 and 21, were located by a helicopter within the past hour.

They are sisters and are believed to be from out of town, according to reports.

The sheriff's office said they went hiking early Tuesday and were supposed to be back sometime last night, but never returned.

They had a little bit of food and only one bottle of water when they left on their hike.

The Sheriff's office said they are currently working on hoisting the women to safety.

Their condition is not known but rescuers said they appear to be in good condition.
