Search continues for missing Bakersfield plane headed to Wyoming

SALT LAKE CITY, UT. - The Utah Wing Civil Air Patrol has been searching since being notified of an overdue aircraft on Monday.

The missing airplane departed Bakersfield California bound for Gillette Wyoming on Nov. 25.

The Utah Wing has been assisted by Civil Air Patrol Wings from Wyoming and Colorado. The Civil Air Patrol has been flying search missions within Utah and Wyoming since Monday.

The Utah Wing has teams on the ground working with the local Sheriffs offices in the various counties. We have been assisting the Millard County Sheriffs office and his team in searching various canyons.
The Utah National Guards 171st medivac unit has assisted with the search with their H60 Blackhawk helicopter. The Blackhawk is capable of doing high altitude hoists and land on any peak in Utah. The Blackhawk has Night Vision Capabilities to fly and hoist at night.
