BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Larry E. Reider Education Center is hosting an event to teach anyone how to prevent infant deaths on Thursday.

Packing a child's crib full of blankets and toys may look like a comfortable, safe place, but wrapping a baby among those things can be deadly.

Kern County ranks 7th statewide in infant deaths according to the Kern County Network for Children.

The sleep seminar is from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Larry E. Reider Education Center at 2000 K Street and it is free for anyone who would like to attend.
