Send special needs kids to summer camp

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -  

Keller Williams Real Estate Associates in Bakersfield and Tehachapi took the day off on Thursday, to partner with the Society for Disabled Children for their Stuff the Tent, Cash for Camp event.

Stuff the Tent, Cash for Camp, is a fundraiser hosted by the Society for Disabled Children to support its Camp Blue Jay program. Camp Blue Jay was established in 1975 and is Kern County’s only resident camp program for children with special needs.  Camp Blue Jay campers days are filled with hiking, arts and crafts, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, games, sports, friendship building and songs around the campfire.

On May 9, three locations will be available for the public to drive through/or to and Stuff the Tent with monetary donations. Those locations are:

Keller Williams Realty, 5351 Olive Dr. Bakersfield,  7:00am-12:00pm

Keller Williams Realty, 1100 Tehachapi Blvd., Suite E, Tehachapi, 7:00am-12:00pm

Society for Disabled Children, 1819 Brundage Lane, Bakersfield, 7:00am-7:00pm

Every year, Keller Williams Associates choose to “Give Where They Live” as part of Red Day, one of the biggest events in the real estate industry. Red Day, short for “Renew, Energize and Donate” was created to unite Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in an international day of service. Red Day displays the extraordinary effect a company can have when individuals come together to work as a team for the greater good of everyone.

During the afternoon, once the tents close at the Keller Williams offices, Keller Williams Associates will be performing maintenance and clean up at the Society’s 1819 Brundage Lane location. Painting, gardening and general maintenance will be a few of the tasks they complete as they “Give Where They Live” for Red Day.
