Several McKee Middle School students in hospital after bus crash

Students suffer minor to moderate injuries

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Six middle school students were taken to the hospital after the school bus they were on collided with a car south of Bakersfield.

On April 26, shortly before 9:00 a.m., a crew with the Bakersfield Fire Department went to the intersection of East McKee and South Union regarding a car that crashed into a school bus.

According to officials, a car, driven by a 17-year-old woman, crashed into the right side of a school bus.

The bus held 65 people, mostly middle school students that attend McKee of the Greenfield Union School District.

Six students were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.  The bus also received damage to the right side.

As of 3:30 p.m., officials said all six students were released from medical care and are doing fine.
