Several memorials were held for the Bakersfield Speedway official who died in a tragic accident, Saturday.
Steven O'Neil, 54, died after he was hit by a car during one of the races he was working at, last weekend.
The speedway is paying its respect to O'Neil by postponing all races that were originally scheduled for Saturday night, and having the track go dark instead.
Family and friends also remembered the avid diver with a memorial, instead of a funeral, at one of O'Neil's favorite restaurants.
David Miller, one of the officials closest friends, talked about how he was doing since the accident.
"A lot of crying going on, of course me being one of them, but Steve wanted everyone to be happy and have a celebration and that's what we're trying to do," Miller said.
