SHAFTER, Calif. - A man is dead after he was thrown from his vehicle, officials said.

On March 14, at about 8:00 p.m., the California Highway Patrol went to Jumper Street regarding a single car accident.

Officials said 25-year-old Steven Patterson was driving down Jumper Street in Shafter, when his pick-up truck left the roadway and crashed into an orchard.

According to officials, Patterson was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his truck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
