Sheriff's deputies arrest seven on drug charges

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Authorities arrested seven suspects on drug charges after three searches Wednesday.

Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division executed three search warrants related to narcotics sales in the Bakersfield area at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The first warrant was served in the 2100 block of Lester Street, and the other two were served on a property in the 100 block of Hughes Avenue in Oildale.

During the search, officers located narcotics and a man  with two outstanding felony warrants for his arrest, officials said.  

At the second and third location investigators located more narcotics, evidence of narcotics sales, firearms, ammunition, counterfeit U.S. currency and stolen property, officials said.

In total seven subjects were arrested at the three locations for charges related to the possession of the narcotics, possession of stolen property, possession of firearms and ammunition, possession of  counterfeit currency, maintaining a residence for drug use and for participation in a criminal street gang, officials said.

The arrested subjects are all residents of the Bakersfield area and include 41-year-old Tammie Maldanado, 33-year-old Paul Parra Jr., 44-year-old Mack Black, 21-year-old Christian Ramirez, 21-year-old Leonard Marella, 23-year-old Sabrina Villareal, 24-year-old Ravin Bowers, and 28-year-old Delfino Barboza. The suspects in this case were transported to the Sheriff's Central Receiving Facility Jail where they were booked.

Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division Units involved in the service of the warrants were Cal-MMET, Central Valley HIDTA, Sheriff’s Majors Investigation Unit, KNET, and the Special Operations Group.
