Sheriff's detectives target underage drinking and sales at Kern County fair, 60 arrested so far

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County detectives are going undercover and cracking down on underage drinking at this year's Kern County Fair.
As of Tuesday, 60 people were arrested in alcohol related crimes, such as, selling alcohol to minors, minors in possession of alcohol, minors in possession of fake IDs and other alcohol related crimes.
Detectives said the operation is set up to curb the number underage drinking incidents at the fair.
Funding for these operations come from grants through the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control.
Officers plan to continue this operations until the fair ends, Sunday.
