BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - People living in the Kern River Valley might see smoke, but no need to be alarmed, it's part of a scheduled burn.
The Kern River Ranger District plans to burn hazardous fuel reduction piles, starting today, on Breckenridge Mountain.
The project may last two to three days.
Officials said smoke will be visible in Breckenridge, Havilah, and the Lake Isabella areas.
