TAFT, Calif. - The Taft courthouse will close this year, according to officials.
Officials said all criminal proceedings will be transferred to other courts.
An official said that people charged in Taft will now appear in the Lamont courthouse.
The court is closing due to budget cuts that came from the state, officials said.
The court is expected to close by the end of September.
At this time, it is not known if employees are also losing their jobs or if they are being transferred to other courts.
