A South Lake couple returned to their neighborhood on Monday expecting to find their home destroyed by the ravenous Erskine Fire.
What they found can only be described as "a miracle."
"We got so lucky," said Teresa Magee. She and her husband Nathan were pleasantly shocked when they found their home virtually untouched by the fire, which has destroyed at least 200 structures.
"It's like a miracle," she said.
The blaze reached their fence and burned some of their trees, but the house itself was saved. The area around their home, including the homes of neighbors, were decimated.
"I'm thinking, 'this is so strange'," she said.
"We got so lucky."
