BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Caltrans announced scheduled lane closures on southbound State Route 99 Tuesday to allow crews to conduct pavement rehabilitation operations.
The following lane closures are scheduled to take place, weather permitting:
Southbound State Route 99, the middle lane and the right lane from just south of the Friant Kern Canal to State Route 46 interchange will be closed on Tuesday between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Southbound State Route 99, the middle lane and the right lane from 7th Standard Road to State Route 65 interchange will be closed on Tuesday between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. This closure will also include the southbound State Route 99 on-ramp from 7th Standard Road.
State Route 99 will be reduced to one lane in this area during work hours. Motorists can expect delays and are encouraged to take an alternate route if possible.
California Highway Patrol will be on site assisting with traffic control. Motorists are expected to obey all traffic laws, remain alert and watch for maintenance vehicles and personnel.
Pavement operations are necessary during daytime hours due to low nighttime temperatures and for the safety of workers and motorists. Closures may continue for longer periods of time if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur during maintenance.
Caltrans Maintenance workers remind you to drive with extra care and allow additional travel time while travelling in the Bakersfield area. Please be alert for Road Maintenance Personnel and
“Slow for the Cone Zone.”
