BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Steaks & prizes will be dished out in Bakersfield this weekend at a fundraiser to help at-risk youth in Southern California.

The benefit will take place at the R.M. Pyles Boys Camp Picnic Area (formerly the Lake Ming picnic grounds) at the eastern end of Lake Ming.
The annual barbecue is a fundraiser for the non-profit camp in the Giant Sequoia National Monument. It gives underprivileged children the opportunity to learn leadership qualities through a wilderness experience.
According to organizers, there will be $10,000 in prizes to be raffled off, including the grand prize: a 55-inch flat-screen T.V.
Tickets cost $15, and children 12 and under are free with an adult's paid admission.
