Stolen car crashes into Boys and Girls Club gas line

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A stolen car crashed into the Boys and Girls Club's main gas line on Wednesday morning.

Bakersfield police tried to pull over the man driving the stolen car, when they spotted him near Niles Street and Beale Avenue at about 8 a.m.

He led officers on a chase that ended in the alley of the Boys and Girls Club on Niles Street and King Street when the car hit the building's gas line.

The Boys and Girls Club was evacuated as well as nearby homes until the gas could be turned off.

The evacuation was lifted before 9 a.m.
