BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Students at Endeavour Elementary School helped support Kern County Search and Rescue by holding a jog-a-thon.
One of the students decided to hold the event and the entire school got behind her to participate.
"A lot of people don't know this but, they are all volunteers and that means they don't get paid. They pay for every single thing out of their own pocket, for their dogs and supplies," said Lauren Bittle, student organizer.
Search and Rescue brought out their equipment and K9's.
The students said they hope to raise $3,000 for the volunteer organization.
