BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Some lucky students could see a boost in their school performance thanks to a program that opened their eyes.
More than 400 students are getting glasses thanks to a partnership between Advanced Eyecare and OneSight.
"I'll be happy to get my glasses because then I'll be able to read," Mason Boyd said Tuesday.
For the third year in a row, OneSight came to Wingland Elementary School.
The company's mobile clinic offers a comprehensive eye exam for students. The van has frams and a lab to make the glasses for students.
The program makes things a little easier for families who can't find time for a trip to the eye doctor, or cannot afford glasses.
Eighty-five students in seven area school districts benefited from the visit, getting outfitted with new eyeware.
