Students show scientific knowledge at Science Fair

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Nearly 700 4th to 12th grade students will participated in the Kern County Science Fair at the Rabobank Convention Center Tuesday, for a chance to win a ticket to the State Science Fair that's happening in April.

Students will be interviewed to demonstrate their understanding of their display and hypothesis.

Entries will be judged on scientific thought/engineering goals, creativity, organization, completeness, clarity and motivation.

Canadian-born biologist, adventurer and TV personality Dr. Niall McCann provided the opening address before the judging of the projects at  9 a.m.

The showcasing of the projects will took place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the awards ceremony will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
