Superheroes come out and support Kern County's littlest

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County let the superheroes come out and run to show the community that there is great strength and support for kids who may be victims of abuse or neglect.

The 5-K run started early at 8:30 a.m., following with a 2-K walk at 9 a.m. at the Rio Bravo Ranch, located at 15701 Highway 178.

Dozens came out, proudly waving their capes in unity and support the community's most vulnerable.

CASA explains that most of the popular superheroes we see in comics did not grow up in a typical family environment, yet were able to overcome any barriers and accomplished so much.

With that mentality the Kern County community is hoping to bring locals together, to suit up, and show their support for young kids living in dire situations.
