Suspect arrested for copper wire theft in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A suspected copper thief in Bakersfield was arrested on Friday.

On Feb. 8, detectives with the Bakersfield Police Department found and arrested a man for previous copper wire thefts of the City of Bakersfield property.

Officials said 43-year-old Dean Donn Mudford allegedly removed copper wire from various locations throughout the city.

According to police, Mudford was arrested for petty theft and possession of stolen property.
