BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield police are looking for answers after someone opened fire at a candlelight vigil and sent people running for their lives Sunday night.
On Jan. 22, at about 6:30 p.m., officials said a suspect opened gunfire on a community that was holding a vigil for a loved one.
Relatives and loved ones were gathered when they noticed a car driving slowly past. BPD says someone then shot at a vehicle and everyone scattered to avoid the gunfire.
One witness who did not want to be identified for safety reasons said he is in disbelief that anyone could do such a thing.
Officials said no one was hurt.
Anyone with information is urged to call the BPD.
