BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Alberto Ramirez was sentenced today to 36 years to life in state prison.

Ramirez was convicted on July 6 of attempted murder and mayhem on victims Joseph Miranda and Nathaniel Neal.

On July 9, 2010, on Forrest Street in East Bakersfield, Ramirez attacked and stabbed the victims numerous times after a verbal argument.  

Miranda and Neal were seriously injured as a result.

Ramirez was a member of the South Side Bakers, a criminal street gang in Bakersfield.
