BAKERSFIELD - Police say the child endangerment suspect that was wanted after three children were left alone last week is now in custody.
Andres Rivera, 24, was supposed to be taking care of three toddlers in an East Bakersfield apartment. On May 29, those children were found abandoned , and police say they could have been there for days.
One of the toddlers was transported to the hospital. Police said the toddlers were malnourished. The children were placed in protective care.
Family told 23ABC that the mother of the children was in the hospital for surgery. Police say she left the children in Rivera's care.
Rivera learned that he was wanted and turned himself in Tuesday afternoon.
