Suspect wanted in Bakersfield sexual assault case

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A woman was sexually assaulted in the back seat of a car and police are asking for help in identifying a suspect.
On July 8, a woman reported to police that she was walking in the 2100 block of Bradley Avenue at about 10 p.m., when she was allegedly approached by a vehicle.
According to the victim, the passenger exited the front passenger side of the vehicle at which time the victim became suspicious and ran. The suspect caught the victim and reportedly drug her back into the rear seat of the vehicle where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. The suspect then pushed the victim out of the vehicle and the vehicle fled southbound on South H Street from Bradley Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle was not seen by the victim.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned black man with a medium build and black hair. He was said to be wearing a white t-shirt with red, black and white plaid shorts and white shoes. He allegedly has a tattoo of cursive writing on his left forearm.
The suspect vehicle was described as a Kia Sportage SUV. The vehicle is said to be a four-door and white. The victim said the SUV was missing the rear spare tire and had possible license plate letters and numbers of 'Y5' or 'Y8'.
