BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A 911 Caller alerted Police to a suspected drunken driver who crashed into a street light right in front of officers.

The crash happened at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Truxtun Avenue and Oak Street in Central Bakersfield.

Police said the 911 caller was a retired sheriff deputy who noticed a 24-year old woman driving erratically.

He followed her Silver Toyota Celica and kept police aware of her location and they set up a perimeter to catch her, officials said.

They were waiting at Truxtun and Oak when the woman drove up and slammed into the pole. She failed a breathalyzer test and was arrested for driving under the influence.

Police say she has at least one prior DUI Conviction.
