Taft woman arrested after meth found concealed on her during traffic stop

TAFT, Calif. -  

Taft police arrested two suspects after they found narcotics in their vehicle during a traffic stop on Sunday.

On Feb. 24, Taft Substation deputies conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of the driver, 26-year-old Jorge Negrete, for driving without a license. 

Officials said the passenger, 34-year-old Chandra Lacoy, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. 

Officials said they found about 15 grams of methamphetamine concealed on Lacoy after searching. 

Lacoy was also arrested for taken  a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, according to police. 

Lacoy was booked into the Taft City Jail, and Negrete was issued a citation and released.
