Relay for Life teams kick off fundraising

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Many people are getting ready for one of Bakersfield's biggest spring time events.
Teams participating in the annual "Relay for Life", came together Saturday to kick off their fundraising efforts.
Cancer survivors and those impacted by cancer make up the teams.
Organizers say about $69,000 have been raised so far.
Over a thousand people take part in this annual event and there are more than 200 teams already formed.
The annual Relay for Life is scheduled to take place on the first weekend in May.
