45 year-old Kelly William Gill was found wrapped in blankets, stashed inside Ausbie's closet. He lived in the home with his sister, Dickey Sue Martinez and a handful of other roommates.

Gill was an an aspiring cartoonist who suffered from Wilson's disease. He had an alphabetized booklet with different characters he created, which his sister now keeps close by at all times.

Ausbie planned to rob Gill, knowing Gill normally carried large amounts of cash. During the altercations with Gill, Ausbie choked Gill to death then wrapped his body in sheets and blankets. He then placed Gill's body inside his closet.

Using the money he had stolen from Gill, Ausbie bought a car. He planned to place Gill's body in the trunk and dispose of the car. Before he could do so, police received an anonymous tip that Gill had been killed and hidden inside the home.

Ausbie was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
