On December 5, 2016, Kern County Sheriff’s deputies from the Tehachapi Substation responded to a report of a robbery that had occurred in the Tehachapi area.
When deputies arrived they talked with the victim, a juvenile, who had been injured during the robbery. The juvenile victim required medical treatment at a Tehachapi hospital.
During the course of the investigation, 32-year-old Brian Rahman Yearwood was identified as a suspect in the case. Deputies were able to obtain probable cause to issue a warrant for the arrest of Yearwood, as well as a search warrant for his residence, located on East I Street, just south of the airport in Tehachapi.
On December 15, 2016, deputies arrested Yearwood for the warrant and executed the search warrant at his home. Yearwood was later booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility for attempted murder, robbery, and criminal threats.
His bail has been set at $250,000.
