BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A Cancer center at a local hospital received a huge donation on Wednesday morning.

On Feb. 13, at 9:30 a.m., The AIS Cancer Center at San Joaquin Community Hospital received a check for $10,000 from the revenue generated by the Annual Volkslauf Mud Run.

The funds will benefit the new AIS Cancer Center, which recently announced an affiliation with the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The Bakersfield Marine Corps League is dedicated in trying to improve the community through community activities, such as the Annual Volkslauf Mud Run.

Each year, the Volkslauf hosts thousands of participants, which generates financial support for some of Kern County's charitable organizations.

This year, The AIS Cancer Center is one of the primary beneficiaries of the event.
