BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield's first and only hospital-based, comprehensive cancer center: The AIS Cancer Center at San Joaquin Community Hospital is celebrating.
The two-day celebration is a special event in which the AIS Cancer Center will be dedicated to the community.
On Saturday, Dec. 8, the VIP gala event, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., will feature a host of local dignitaries as well as guided tours of The AIS Cancer Center.
Following the dinner program, there will be an outdoor light show extravaganza, created by On Media Group, whose team includes a former Disney animator.
On Sunday, Dec. 9, The community dedication event will be Open House style with the public invited to enjoy guided tours of The AIS Cancer Center, a health fair, crafts activities, a strolling magician and a balloon animal maker, and more.
The event will be a very family-friendly atmosphere and is a free event. The event will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m..
The light show from the previous evening will also be presented in four encores at 5:30, 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m.
