The annual Kern County Heart & Stroke walk happening today at CSUB

The Kern County Heart and Stroke Walk is being held today encouraging Kern County to get active and fight cardiovascular disease. 

More than 2,000 people are expected to participate in this years walk. Organizers are encouraging healthy habits while raising funds to support the AHA's research and education effort to fight heart disease and stroke, the nation's number one and number five killers. 

As the number on cause of death in our nation, heart disease is also the number one killer in Kern County and more people die from heart disease in Kern County than in any other county in California. 

The walk is being held at Cal State Bakersfield Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is free to register. 

The walk starts at 9:30 a.m.
