BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The California Highway Patrol is looking to hire new dispatchers and is now accepting applications from people interested in a career in public service.

The CHP is looking for personnel who are willing to work unusual hours, which includes nights, weekends and even holidays as well as overtime.
In a statement sent to 23ABC, applicants must also know how to operate computer-related equipment, as well as have the necessary judgment to dispatch personnel and resources such as an officer or emergency equipment.
