TAFT, Calif. -

The Raceway held a job fair yesterday afternoon at Westside Parks and Recreation in Taft to get ready for opening day April 20.

The track is looking for people to fill jobs in security, the box office, ushers, facility cleaning and parking attendants.

Hundreds of people went out to the job fair and one organizer, Marcus Johnson said it's a great way for local companies to work together.

"One of the things that is really important is that we mitigate the unemployment gap and the commitment of the race track to retain services from a local company empowers us a company to go back into the community and bring those tax dollars back into the community the Kern County community"

The Kern County Raceway Park is a half-time track.

The park will host 23 Saturday night events and one Sunday race including the televised NASCAR K&N Pro Series West on October 26.
