Bakersfield, Calif. - Playstation 4 became the coveted console for thousands of 'videogamers' as well as local thieves.
The Bakersfield Police Department said just after midnight one person was robbed in the Best Buy parking lot on Rosedale Highway minutes after buying the new Playstation.
The victim told 23ABC the masked gunman threatened him twice before he gave up the gaming system.
He said the suspect sped-off in a 2004 or 2005 white minivan.
It was a similar scene outside the the GameStop at the Valley Plaza Mall.
Officers tracked the suspect's car to the nearby Coventry Drive Apartment Complex where several people were detained.
