Three arrested in California City after stealing Christmas gifts from home

CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. - California City police returned Christmas gifts to a family after three men had burglarized their home on Christmas Eve.

Officers responded to the 8700 block of Aspen Avenue Tuesday regarding a burglary in progress.

Officers saw a subject scaling the rear property line of the victim’s residence.

Officers got a description of the suspect and were able to contain the suspects to an apartment complex in the 8700 block of California City Boulevard.

One suspect was immediately arrested. Officers were able to find and arrest two other suspects hiding in an apartment in the complex, officials said.

Police learned the items taken in the burglary were Christmas gifts for the victim’s small children. Police were able to locate all of the stolen gifts near where the suspects had been apprehended and returned them to the family.

All three suspects are from California City: Michael Park, 20, Micchory Park, 18, and a juvenile.

During their interview, all three of them admitted to burglarizing the residence, officials said.

All three suspects were arrested for residential burglary, officials said.

Police are investigating whether these same suspects may be involved in several other burglaries in California City over the past few months, officials said.
