Three Kern County high school baseball teams will square off in the California Interscholastic Federation, CIF, Central Sectional Finals.
In Division I baseball, Bakersfield's Stockdale High School will face Fresno's Clovis West. Stockdale is the underdog at the number two seed having beaten Clovis North 4-1 in the semifinals and Frontier 4-2 in the quarterfinals.
In Division III baseball, Bakersfield's Garces Memorial High School will battle Reedley's Immanuel High School. Garces is the top seed in the bracket going up against the number six Immanuel. The Garces Rams beat Highland High School 4-3 in the semifinals and Firebaugh High School 6-4 in the quarterfinals.
In Division V baseball, Arvin's Arvin High School Bears draws Madera's Liberty High School Hawks. Arvin is the top seed left in the tournament at number two, after Liberty toppled top-ranked Minarets High School 17-0. The Bears plated eight in both of their games winning 8-4 Mendota High School in the semifinals and beating Sierra High School 8-5 in the quarterfinals.
The Central Sectional Finals will be played in Visalia on Friday and Saturday. The Division I game is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday. The Division III game will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday. And the Division V will slated for 4 p.m. on Friday.
