Three kids hit by car near Auburn, Eissler Streets in Bakersfield and taken to hospital

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Three children have been taken to the hospital after they were hit by a car in a crosswalk in Northeast Bakersfield.

At about 7:39 a.m., the three kids were crossing at Auburn and Eissler Streets, when a Ford Taurus struck them, according to Bakersfield Police Department Public Information Officer Michaela Sims.

They were walking with a crossing guard at the time.

The woman driving the Taurus was cited for a traffic infraction and released at the scene.

All three children were transported to a local hospital. Two children had complaints of pain and one child was transported with minor to moderate injuries.

The intersection is near Chipman Jr. High and Highland High School.
