BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Business is booming in Southwest Bakersfield. Shoppers can soon expect more stores and more places to eat once The Shops at Riverwalk is complete.
Developers have already finished building several projects including a handful of restaurants, but more is on its way. In a couple of months, the empty space will be filled with things to do and places to shop.
Real estate developers, Castle and Cooke are working on completing The Shops at Riverwalk.
It's a place providing people with a wide variety of brand new stores and speciality boutiques.
The empty space will be home to Class A Office Buildings and even more restaurants including a hotel.
The site is already close to the Kern River Bike Path and the Brighhouse Amphitheater.
Once construction is complete it will be located between Target and Eureka Burgers.
T.J. Maxx, Nordstrom Rack and DSW are expected to open early next year along with a grocery store.
