SHAFTER, Calif. - The victim of multiple gunshot wounds who was found in an almond orchard is being buried Wednesday.
Todd Chance was found dead in an orchard northwest of the Rosedale area, miles away from his car August 25.
Leslie Jenea Chance, principal of Fairview Elementary School, was arrested in connection to the murder on August 29.
Todd Chance was buried in Shafter at a private ceremony Wednesday morning.
Leslie Jenea Chance was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, but instead the District Attorney sent the case back to the Kern County Sheriff's Office for further investigation.
With no charges filed against her, Leslie Chance was released at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Leslie Jenea Chance is on paid administrative leave.
